Posted 2/1/2018

As we move into our next School Term we are looking for 2 further support staff to support our students in School.
We are interested in enthusiastic people who have a passion for supporting learners from challenging backgrounds.
You’ll need almost limitless supplies of energy, enthusiasm and optimism to tackle the inertia and disenchantment that characterise student behaviour in challenging schools.
You’ll need to be creative, brimming with ideas and capable of packaging and repacking ideas and concepts to capture the interest and imagination of students who, for whatever reason, have disengaged from education.
You’ll need self-discipline and have the courage to confront failure and come back for more, because not everything you try will work.
You’ll need thick skin – rhino thick!! Be prepared to be challenged on everything you say or do and to engage your emotional intelligence to build relationships with people who feel you owe them a lot but may not feel they owe you anything in return.
The post is located in our Grimsby School and the Learning Support Payscale is dependent on experience.
The Orchard School is passionate about safeguarding the needs of our learners, as a result we have additional criteria and checks to be made on all of our candidates (including Enhanced DBS).
The Orchard School is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity amongst our workforce.

We are very pleased to confirm that we are on the new Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers.

As part of the reforms to the delivery and funding of Apprenticeship training from 1 May 2017, all providers must have successfully passed the rigorous process required to be entered onto the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers, or RoATP.

This is a significant achievement, as 25% of providers nationally that applied to be on RoATP were not successful.  This putsus ahead of many providers, confirming to employers and apprentices that we are a high quality provider.

If you would like further information on how the apprenticeship reforms affect you, please contact us on 01472 898498 or email us at bmills@orchardhumber.co.uk
