Friday 11th July marked The Orchard School’s annual Enterprise Day, one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the school calendar. The day gives learners the opportunity to use their creativity and business skills to design and run a range of enterprising activities, all with the goal of raising money for good causes.
This year, three charities were chosen to benefit from the event: the Make Me Smile Foundation, St Andrew’s Hospice, and Grimsby Food Kitchen. Learners and staff worked together with passion, teamwork and determination to put on an outstanding day of stalls, activities and fundraising initiatives.
Thanks to the generosity of families and the wider school community, an incredible £3,000 was raised, the highest total ever achieved at the event. The funds will be split between the three nominated charities, helping to make a difference locally.
Principal Steven Broderick said:
“Enterprise Day is a highlight of the year for us, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm and commitment our learners show in making it such a success. To raise a record-breaking £3,000 is an amazing achievement and a real testament to the teamwork between our learners, staff, parents and carers. We are delighted to be able to support three wonderful local charities that do so much for our community.”
The Orchard School extends heartfelt thanks to parents, carers and supporters who contributed to this record-breaking event, making it the most successful Enterprise Day to date.
