The Orchard Special Educational Needs School in Grimsby is delighted to announce the introduction of a new suite of BTEC qualifications, broadening the range of learning opportunities available to its learners.
From this academic year, learners have the option to study Art and Design, Sports, Performing Arts, and Home Cooking, in addition to the school’s existing qualifications. These nationally recognised courses have been designed to offer practical skills, confidence, and knowledge that will support learners in progressing to independent living, further study, or future employment.
Early feedback from learners has been extremely positive, with high levels of engagement and enthusiasm across all subjects. The BTEC programmes provide opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning, ensuring that every learner can explore their interests while developing valuable life and vocational skills.
Steve Broderick, Principal of The Orchard School, said:
“We’re really proud to be expanding our curriculum offer through these new BTEC qualifications. They provide our learners with practical, meaningful experiences that build confidence and prepare them for the next stage in life, whether that’s further education, work, or independent living. It’s been fantastic to see how motivated and engaged our learners have been since the courses began.”
