Welcome to our SEND information which aims to provide all our stakeholders with the information, aim and mission of the Orchard to support many young heroes with additional needs within their local communities. Orchard School values the abilities and achievements of all its pupils and is committed to providing each pupil with the best possible environment for learning enabling them to thrive.
Within this section you will find all of our school policies and procedures. Policies are important because they help us as a school establish rules and procedures and create standards of quality for learning and safety, as well as expectations and accountability.
Exciting opportunities to join our Orchard family! Check back here for details of our vacancies.
Parents are a key stakeholder in shaping our school, positive learner experiences for all and helping us celebrate the successes of every child who attends the Orchard. We value our parental voice and all their efforts in supporting us to meet the needs of not only their child but all who attend the Orchard.
The Orchard School is very conscious that we have a responsibility to safeguard all of our learners who attend the school. School staff are trained to a high standard and reflect the School’s philosophy of “safeguarding first”.
The Orchard work closely with North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children’s Board, following all statutory advice. Our school adheres to “Keeping Children Safe in Education” and Guidance for Safer Working Practice for Adults who work with Children and Young People in Education Settings. Every member of staff holds a current Safeguarding Child Protection Training Certificate. They are trained in recognising signs of abuse and know exactly what to do if they have concerns about any child in school – this training is renewed every 3 years. Further extra training takes place at our school, such as PREVENT, British Values, Child Sexual Exploitation and Online Safety.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. All adults working in school are required to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Enhanced Check.
We have a copy of the School’s Safeguarding Policy available in School reception and it is also available on this website: Safeguarding Policy.
