The Orchard School is very conscious that we have a responsibility to safeguard all of our learners who attend the school. School staff are trained to a high standard and reflect the Schools philosophy of “Safeguarding first”.
The Orchard work closely with North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children’s Board, following all statutory advice. Our school adheres to “Keeping Children Safe in Education” and Guidance for Safer Working Practice for Adults who work with Children and young People in Education Settings. Access to local safeguarding arrangements can be found at:
Every member of staff holds a current Safeguarding Child Protection Training Certificate. They are trained in recognising signs of abuse and know exactly what to do if they have concerns about any child in school – this training is renewed every 3 years, however further extra training takes place at our school, such as PREVENT, British Values, Child Sexual Exploitation and Online Safety.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. All adults working in school are required to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Enhanced Check.
We have a copy of the School’s Safeguarding Policy available in School reception and it is also available on this website: Safeguarding Policy.
