The Orchard School, part of the Melrose Education group of schools, has once again demonstrated its incredible generosity and festive spirit through their ‘Orchard Mission Christmas’ initiative. This year’s fundraising drive aimed to support disadvantaged children and families in the local area, ensuring they could experience the joy of Christmas.
Thanks to the overwhelming support from learners, parents, carers, and staff, the school raised an incredible £2,050. These funds were used to purchase Christmas gifts, clothing, and food, which were donated to local charities, including Women’s Aid, The Salvation Army, and Grimsby Food Kitchen.
Steve Broderick, Principal of The Orchard School, expressed his gratitude and pride in the school community’s efforts:
“This Christmas, we challenged ourselves to make a real difference for children and families who might otherwise go without. The response from our school community was nothing short of astounding. To raise £2,050 is a testament to the kindness and generosity of everyone involved. These donations have brought joy and hope to so many, and I cannot thank everyone enough for their incredible support.”
The success of ‘Orchard Mission Christmas’ highlights the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of care and compassion, extending beyond the classroom and into the wider community. With the donations already making an impact, The Orchard School looks forward to continuing its charitable initiatives in the future.
