Orchard School Pupil Sets Up Christmas Appeal For Local Children’s Ward

A year 11 pupil, Cohen Cullum, from The Orchard School which is a special school for children with additional needs aged 11 to 16 years based across three sites in Grimsby, is arranging  a Christmas appeal for the Rainforest Children’s Ward at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.

One of a number of Cohen’s efforts to raise money for charity in recent years, the Christmas appeal aims to collect toys, arts and craft resources and toiletries for the children who find themselves having to stay in the Grimsby hospital over the festive period.

Steve Broderick, Executive Principal at The Orchard, said: “Cohen is an inspiration to us all. He was recently nominated for a young volunteer award at the GPK Youth Awards, and does a lot in his own spare time to raise money for various charities. It is great that Cohen is thinking of those less fortunate than himself, and being so proactive to try and make a difference. Any donations, however big or small, would be much appreciated and will hopefully put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas Day”.

Anyone wishing to donate to this worthy cause, is asked to drop their donations no later than 9th December to one of the school’s three Grimsby sites which can be found on Sargon Way, Laceby Road and Roberts Street.
