Part of The Orchard’s school mission is to allow every learner to be active in the local community, becoming confident and prepared for their future beyond the school. The school achieves this in a variety of ways but love nothing better than raising money in and for their local community.
September 2023 saw learners from The Orchard doing just that by working in partnership with Gallagher’s Café in Cleethorpes to host their very own Macmillan coffee morning. Macmillan are an incredible charity who provide physical, financial and emotional support to those affected by cancer and the school were delighted to be able to do their bit by raising £500 for the charity. Melrose Education then matched the funds raised by their learners to make an incredible total donation of £1000.
School Principal, Steve Broderick, said,
